FOB

Colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer in both men and women. Healthcare providers use a variety of tests for colorectal cancer screening which include a fecal occult blood (FOB) test. Screening leads to early diagnosis and treatment; FOB tests performed every 1-2 years in people ages 50-80 can reduce the number of deaths due to colorectal cancer by 15-33%. FOB tests are used to detect a number of gastrointestinal disorders including cancer, plyps, colitis and diverticulitis.
