Beginning in 2001 researchers started examining the cause of death 122,000 people in India.  By the end of their research in 2003 they discovered that 3.6% of deaths were probably caused by Malaria.  Extrapolating this to the greater population of India researchers can estimate that 125,000-277,000 people die of Malaria each year in India.  The researchers’ best estimates hover around.... In Johor Baru, Malaysia just outside of Singapore the number of cases of dengue since last year has increased more than 60%, including 10 recorded deaths.  Last year there were only three deaths, and it’s only October.
