Research Associate/Associate Scientist

CTK Biotech is a San Diego based company develops, manufactures, and markets innovative diagnostic test kits for the IVD community worldwide. Our mission is to simplify diagnostics and improve global health. CTK invests heavily in research to develop our own recombinant antigens and antibodies for our test kits production. We are looking for a Research Associate/Scientist I to join our antibody discovery team.

The candidate will function as an integral member of the Antibody Discovery team to support antibody development and production. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to antibody development using cell fusion technology, hybridoma screening via ELISA and WB, mammalian cell culture, antibody purification and characterization. Previous experience with recombinant antibody development is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform mice immunization, cell fusion, hybridoma screening using ELISA or WB
  • Hybridoma subcloning, cell maintenance and expansion for downstream purification
  • Build the master seed stock for selected antibody clones
  • Antibody purification via salt precipitation, protein A or antigen-affintiy chromatography
  • Antibody characterization via SDS-PAGE, isotyping, ELISA and WB.
  • Assist with recombinant antibody development using molecular biology techniques
  • Assist with lab maintenance and reagent inventory management

Education and/or Experience

  • BS or Master in Cell Biology, Immunology or related discipline
  • 3 years of laboratory experience with BS or 1-2 years with Master, preferably in industry or college
  • Practical expertise in small animal handling, immunization and bleeding
  • Experience with hybridoma cultures, mammalian cell maintenance

Preferred Knowledge, Skill and Experience                        

  • Previous experience with recombinant antibody development is a plus
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Molecular Biology techniques (PCR, cloning, expression) is preferred
  • Prior experience with antibody conjugation using HRP or Biotin is a plus
  • Strong organizational, communication and time management skills
  • Must be able to work both independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidate should be skilled in MS office applications
